After eleven years as the General Manager of renowned Banana Leaf, Scott Kwan moved on to opening and managing the two Tamarind Malaysian locations in New Westminster and North Vancouver. In 2012, his dream finally came true when he opened his own restaurant in Vancouver: Kaya.
Scott is a food and drink aficionado who strives to deliver the true joy of dining to his customers, day in and day out. With Kaya, he has been able to bring a new Malaysian flavour to the ever-developing west coast dining scene.
Before he started using SingleApp, he was not as efficient with his online operations, as he needed to constantly log in to multiple platforms. Once he began implementing the solution, the management of his online operations became significantly easier. “I simply logged into SingleApp to view all my online statistics and update my website including online orders, reservations, and visitors.”
When asked what specific feature of SingleApp he enjoyed the most, Scott replied, “I love sending out newsletters to my customers to update them on new promotions, menu items, and everything that is going on in the restaurant.” In fact, he remembers clearly one time he sent out a special gift card promotion through the newsletter feature, and his customers were buying online gift cards later that day.
As well as ordering, Scott’s customers love to make online reservations, and the Bookenda software allows them to do so. The Kaya staff now spends less time taking reservations over the phone, and more time providing excellent service to the patrons in the restaurant.
When asked about working with YP Dine, Scott says he loves having an account manager who can assist him and offer guidance whenever he has questions about any of the solutions.
